Subject: Important Announcement: National Honors Junior Society Community Service Requirements

Dear Parents of Middle School Students,

We hope this message finds you well. We would like to officially announce an important update regarding the community service requirements for the National Honors Junior Society (NHJS) for the 2023-2024 school year.

Starting this school year, each NHJS member is required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service. This change is in accordance with the NHJS bylaws and represents our commitment to fostering community engagement and leadership among our students.

We believe that community service plays a crucial role in developing well-rounded and responsible individuals. Encouraging our students to actively participate in service projects not only benefits our local community but also provides an opportunity for personal growth and character development.

To facilitate this process, we will be providing resources and guidance on finding suitable community service opportunities that align with your child's interests and skills. We encourage you to involve your child in selecting projects that resonate with their values and passions.

In the following school year, 2024-2025, the NHJS community service requirement will be formally set at 20 hours, as outlined in the NHJS bylaws. This gradual increase in service hours will allow students to transition and adjust to the higher commitment.

We believe that this change will enable our students to make a more significant impact on our community while continuing to excel academically. We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of community service and leadership within your child's educational journey.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to working together to instill the values of service and leadership in our NHJS members.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,
L. Perez
